Description
===================
Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun and the first planet to be discovered after the invention of the telescope. Though a gas giant, its smaller size and different chemical composition in comparison to Jupiter and Saturn have led Uranus to be named one of the two ice giants, the other being Neptune. It is the coldest planetary world in the Solar System, named after the Greek god of the sky. The uniqueness of Uranus is perhaps most significant in that its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, causing each of its poles to have a summer of 42 Earth years, followed by a winter of the same length. Even stranger, Voyager 2 discovered the temperature on the sunlit pole to be lower than that on the dark pole. Though its outward appearance resembles a pale green featureless disk, Uranus is home to winds reaching speeds of 900 km/h. Chief among the Uranian moons is Miranda.
